Katlin Floyd

Associate Attorney

Overview And Experience

Some people choose family law. For Katlin, family law chose her.

Her journey to becoming an attorney wasn’t the straight-line path most envision. After graduating from Columbia College, she got married, had two children, and then went through a divorce before attending Charleston School of Law. That experience—navigating custody hearings, working with attorneys, and standing in court not as a lawyer, but as someone fighting for her own family—shaped her in ways no classroom ever could.

Katlin knows firsthand that family law cases aren’t just about paperwork and legal arguments; they’re about people, their children, their futures, and the lives they’ve built. She’s been through it. She’s felt the uncertainty, the stress, and the weight of every decision. And she knows how much it matters to have an attorney who not only understands the law but genuinely understands you.

That perspective is what makes her such a force for her clients. She approaches every case with a deep sense of empathy, knowing that for many, this is the hardest single thing they’ve ever faced. She listens. She strategizes. She fights when needed, negotiates when possible, and always keeps the focus on what matters most—helping clients move forward.

Katlin chose Indigo Family Law for the same reason our clients choose us: “They get it. They understand families, they understand the struggles that everyone goes through, and they truly want to help.” That’s the kind of law she wants to practice, and that’s exactly what she does every day.

When she’s not advocating for clients, Katlin is juggling a full life—raising two daughters deeply involved in competitive dance while also pursuing her master’s degree in Public Administration from Clemson. Time is always in short supply, but for Katlin, every challenge is just another step forward.
