Karen Chipps

Legal Administrative Assistant

Overview And Experience

Some people spend years in school training for family law. Karen Chipps spent years behind a bar.

And that turned out to be remarkably good preparation.

For over two decades, Karen was a bartender in a high-volume, high-energy setting, where knowing how to mix the perfect drink was just one part of the job. The real skill? Listening. Reading people. Knowing when to lend an ear, when to draw the line, and when to help someone navigate through a rough night—without them even realizing it.

That kind of instinct doesn’t come from a textbook. It comes from experience, and it’s what makes Karen an invaluable part of the Indigo Family Law team.

Now, instead of serving drinks, she’s serving hope. As a Legal Administrative Assistant, Karen is often the first-person clients interact with when they walk through our doors. She understands that family law isn’t just about paperwork—it’s about people in crisis, looking for a way forward. And she takes that responsibility seriously. She believes a huge part of her job is simply to smile, to reassure, to remind people that, no matter how tough things seem, there is a way through.

Karen has always thrived as part of a team, and at Indigo, she’s found one that truly makes a difference in people’s lives. She brings her signature mix of warmth, efficiency, and unwavering support to every task, whether she’s managing files, assisting attorneys, or simply making sure a client feels heard.

She has a huge heart, an even bigger capacity to help, and a deep belief in what we do at Indigo. And that makes all the difference.
